Job Description
About the role
Target Edge is a B2B creative agency delivering full-funnel marketing for enterprise clients across pharma, SaaS, financial services, and other complex industries. We are hiring a Creative Director, Copy to lead content craft and drive content delivery across our client engagements.
Content is one part of the full-funnel work we do. This role owns that part end-to-end, from concept through delivery, and works closely with project managers, strategists, and creative leads to keep content moving alongside everything else in a campaign.
Responsibilities
Campaign execution (majority of the year)
- Conceive campaigns alongside a creative team; develop the copy and visuals as one idea
- Write headlines, sublines, body copy, and CTAs for 3–5 clients' campaigns concurrently
- Develop audience and geography variants with distinct sharpness
- Use Target Edge's proprietary AI systems as a thinking partner, a drafting partner, and an editing surface throughout the creative process
- Navigate regulatory and compliance reviewers (e.g., pharma PMRC) without diluting the work
Content leadership and delivery
- Own content delivery across concurrent client engagements
- Partner with project managers to scope, plan, and hit content timelines
- Drive content-related discussions internally and with clients: content reviews, approvals, revisions, stakeholder alignment
- Represent content in cross-functional meetings alongside account, strategy, art direction, and delivery leads
- Coordinate with the broader Target Edge team to ensure content fits within the full-funnel marketing program
- Flag risks to timelines, quality, or scope early and propose solutions
Strategic work (planning seasons, a few weeks per year)
- Contribute to narrative, positioning, and messaging map development
- Participate in and actively shape client strategy workshops
- Translate client positioning into campaign-level creative territory
Client-facing role
- Present, defend, and iterate copy choices in client reviews
- Hold the content conversation in senior client rooms across the year
- Build trusted working relationships with client counterparts
Requirements
- 8–12 years of copywriting experience at agencies producing B2B work
- Portfolio demonstrating concept strength, not just clean execution
- Cross-domain fluency: ability to absorb new industries and write credibly within weeks
- Proven ability to drive delivery across concurrent projects
- Strong collaboration skills with project managers, strategists, and creative leads
- Senior presence in client meetings; comfortable defending creative choices
- Strategic instincts that can be activated during planning cycles
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to articulate why copy works
How we work with AI
Target Edge has built proprietary AI systems specifically for the craft of B2B campaign writing. You will be trained on them. We expect:
- A worldview that AI is a partner, not a threat. AI amplifies capable writers; it does not replace them. If you believe that, this role will be one of the most leveraged of your career. If you don't, this is not the right place for you.
- Use across the full creative process. AI as a thinking partner during concept development, a drafting partner during production, and an editing surface during refinement, not just a tool bolted onto the end.
- Critical judgment. Knowing when AI output helps and when it hurts, and editing with intent until the work meets our standard.
- Openness to build. You do not need an established AI workflow to apply. You need the disposition to build one with us.
Not a fit
- Mid-level copywriters still developing concept capability
- Writers who prefer to work in isolation from project delivery
- Writers who view AI as a threat or refuse to integrate it into their craft
- Pure strategists without craft
- Industry specialists seeking to stay within one domain
